Easter Sunday Survey!

Easter Sunday Survey

Sunday, April 4th

Wow – the weather forecast for Easter Sunday keeps getting better for Fort Collins, CO and before we send out the actual newsletter, we’d love to get a feel for who might want to join us in the backyard for an in-person gathering! We’d also like to take a poll on the time we’d meet that day and if a BYOBL (bring your own boxed lunch!) might appeal to you. If we meet at 11 am, it may still be a little chilly. If we wait till 1 or 2 (or ??) pm, it might be more pleaseant, however we know that might interfere more with other possible Easter plans. Would you mind taking a moment to send us your preference (or other time/meeting ideas) by replying to this email? We apologize in advance to our friends across the country and globe who won’t be able to join us. We’ll plan on doing an extra Zoom the next Sunday, April 11th, to make it up to ya! Thanks for helping us decide on the specifics, Colleen and Mark

Balance

Balance

Sunday, March 21st

With the arrival of the Spring, or Vernal Equinox this coming Saturday, the topic of Balance comes to mind. Throughout this topsy-turvy past year, it may have been a challenge to keep some semblance of balance in one’s life. Maybe this Spring we can concentrate on a re-balancing of our lives as we come out of “hibernation” in a number of ways. Join in on the conversation via ZOOM this Sunday ~ please RSVP (by email preferably), as only those folks who RSVP will be sent the link (on Saturday).
See you then and Happy Spring everyone!
Colleen and Mark

Quotes to ponder

“The cycles of nature guide our lives and their wisdom can be our wisdom too. We often forget that our body is part of the body of the universe and so when we reference, integrate and live the movements of the cosmos within our own selves, our lives too take on the same natural flow.” ~ Kristina Dryža

“0 plus 100 equals 100. But so does 50 plus 50, only with more balance. Let this be a lesson in love.” ~ Jarod Kintz

“Don’t wish me happiness
I don’t expect to be happy all the time…
It’s gotton beyond that somehow.
Wish me courage and strength and a sense of humor.
I will need them all.” ~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh

“Your hand opens and closes, opens and closes. If it were always a fist or always stretched open, you would be paralyzed. Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding, the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as birds’ wings.” ~ Rumi

Looking Ahead/Notes of Interest

Remember to RSVP if you’d like to join us for our Paths of Heart Zoom Gathering on Sunday, March 21st at 11 a.m. Mountain Time (as only those who RSVP will be sent the link to join). Going forward, we are watching the weather forecasts to see if we might be able to meet in person on Easter Sunday, 4/4 and even have a BYOBL (bring your own boxed lunch!) for some distanced social time! It can’t compare to some of our past Easter parties, but we’ll do what we can! As we move toward more in person gatherings, we plan on keeping a once a month ZOOM meeting, especially for those out of town folks who have so enjoyed the opportunity to join us from across the country (and the world!). If we DO meet in person on Easter Sunday, then we may ZOOM the following week, 4/11, and then see if we can meet in person again on 4/18. It’s all kind of fluid right now ~ thanks for your understanding as we move toward some semblance of normalcy again!

Sending “Good Juju” and prayer ~ If anyone ever wants to receive our collective positve thoughts and prayers on a Sunday morming, please ask! We can be as specific or as anonymous as you’d like. Let us know if we can surround you and your loved ones in love and light!

“Paths of Heart” Labyrinth – What a joy it was to envision and oversee the creation of our labyrinth and Zen Garden last summer! This was intentioned to be a community space, so know that you are always welcome to drop by and walk or sit – you do not need to let us know in advance. Do note that we have experienced the outer “halo” of glass blocks to be slippery when wet, so it’s best to walk it on a dry day!

Giving Opportunities – We wanted to remind you of two ways you can support Paths of Heart without costing you an extra penny. 🙂

King Soopers Community Rewards Program – if you shop at KS and have a rewards card, you can “link” it to Paths of Heart and King Soopers will donate a portion of your dollars spent (around 5%) to our non-profit. Go to https://www.kingsoopers.com/i/community/community-rewards to sign up and link your card. Our organization name is Paths of Heart and organization number is RG782. Let us know if you want help signing up!

Amazon Smile – We do love shopping locally and very often do, but Amazon sometimes fits the bill. If you are an Amazon shopper, you can make a difference by shopping at smile.amazon.com/ch/81-4175487 to generate donations for Paths of Heart!

During this time when we are not meeting in person, online donations have become increasingly important to our organization and are always gratefully accepted on our website, https://www.pathsofheart.org/donate/. You can even sign up for monthly giving, which we deeply appreciate. Thanks so much!

Gratitudes

We are grateful for all the moisture our recent snowstorm brought to our parched earth. We look forward to seeing lots of green growth underneath as it gradually seeps into the ground and nurtures new life. Spring is here!

What are you grateful for today?

“I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness – it’s right in front of me if I’m paying attention and practicing gratitude.” ~ Brene Brown

“Just an observation: it is impossible to be both grateful and depressed. Those with a grateful mindset tend to see the message in the mess. And even though life may knock them down, the grateful find reasons, if even small ones, to get up.” ~ Steve Maraboli

“If the only prayer you said was thank you, that would be enough.” ~ Meister Eckhart

Anticipation!

Anticipation!

Sunday, March 7th

Yes, we know that “this moment” is truly all we can experience, but gosh, isn’t it fun to look ahead and vision what is just around the corner? After a long year of Covid isolation, the tease of warm weather has us giddy with possibility as we spy bits of green and pops of color emerging. This, paired with more and more folks getting vaccinated, has us looking forward to gathering again in all sorts of fun ways in the not too distant future. Come on spring! We’d love to hear what you all are anticipating in the coming weeks and months. Join us on ZOOM this Sunday ~ please RSVP (via email preferably), as only those folks who RSVP will be sent the link (on Saturday).
See you then dear ones,
Colleen and Mark

Quotes to ponder

“The future belongs to those who anticipate it.” ~ Baptiste Tricoire

“Does the robin sing because the cold of winter is leaving or the warmth of spring is coming? Or might he be singing because each without the other would lessen both?” ~ Craig D. Lounsbrough

“That is the optimal creative vantage point: To stand on the brink of what is coming, feeling eager, optimistic anticipation – with no feeling of impatience, doubt, or unworthiness hindering the receiving of it – that is the Science of Deliberate Creation at its best.” ~ Esther Hicks

“… We need the sweet pain of anticipation to tell us we are really alive.”
~ Albert Camus

We are tickled by the photos you send us or that we come across, featuring beautiful paths and fun hearts found in nature! Thanks for allowing us to feature them in our newsletters. Today’s newsletter features 3 such photos – what good eyes you have for Nature’s treasures and serendipitous whimsy! If a photo doesn’t have a credit on it, it’s most likely Colleen’s. 🙂
