Navigating Change

This is the power of gathering: it inspires us, delightfully, to be more hopeful, more joyful, more thoughtful; in a word, more alive. ~ Alice Waters

Welcome to Paths of Heart“- a high spirited, heart-centered community where we gather together in music, poetry, commentary, and dialogue to create and nurture joy, compassion, gratitude, and love – in our own lives and throughout the world.  Paths of Heart is a 501(c)(3) Human Services/Educational non-profit organization that uses the arts, especially, to encourage and propel seekers of a better, more peaceful world to find ways to serve, while becoming more kind and compassionate human beings.

We welcome you as we collectively and individually explore the sweet mysteries of life – this is an invitation into co-creation! Our gatherings are most every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at 117 Evans Drive in north Fort Collins. Childcare is available (please let us know ahead of time so we can make arrangements).

We hope our paths cross soon!

Navigating Change
It is said that the only constant in life is change.  Sometimes our life changes are intentional and planned, and other times they arrive and catch us totally unprepared.  We may find ourselves afraid and resistant to inevitable changes in our lives.  How we can gracefully navigate these changes will be our topic this Sunday.

“Your path is beautiful and crooked and just as it should be.” ~ anonymous

“Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge.”
~ Eckhart Tolle

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” ~ Margaret Mead

“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” ~ Jalaluddin Rumi

Looking Ahead/Notes of Interest

TONIGHT, Tuesday, February 27th, 7 pm – Our newly created Paths of Heart “Singing Circle” will meet once a month or so on a Tuesday evening, starting on February 27th!  Everyone is invited to come with song suggestions of a positive, healing, loving, or peaceful nature and we’ll sing in community and radiate our energy out to the world!  Mark your calendar for these scheduled dates:  2/27, 3/27, 5/1.

Sunday, March 11th – Author Laura Pritchett will be our guest speaker at Paths of Heart.  She will be discussing themes from her recently published book, Making Friends with Death.  Laura broaches this sacred and scary topic with warmth, research, and humor, and helps us greet death as an old friend rather than a spooky stranger.

Sunday, March 18th – There will be no Paths of Heart Gathering this Sunday.  See you again on March 25th!

We invite you to visit our website, www.pathsofheart.org. There you’ll find past newsletters, a newsletter sign-up form, more about our organization, a photo gallery, and a ‘donate’ button, for those who prefer to donate to our non-profit with a credit card .  Stop by for a visit and please share with friends!

‘Gratitudes’

Thank you to Teresa Funke for adding so much to our discussion last week, as she shared her experiences as a child and her recent blog post, “How to be One with Everything”!   What a great “play date” we had with you all!

Thank you to The Mish Initiative for awarding Paths of Heart a Mish’n Booster Grant to help support our music events and guest musicians at Paths of Heart!!  We are most grateful!

“Real life isn’t always going to be perfect or go our way, but the recurring acknowledgement of what is working in our lives can help us not only to survive but surmount our difficulties.”
~ Sarah Ban Breathnach

What are you grateful for today?

CAR-EOGRAPHY *  You may park in the driveway, as well as diagonally along the north side of our property.  Should those areas become full, please park out on Hwy 1, which has plenty of space and a nice wide shoulder.  Please watch for cars as you are exiting and entering your vehicle, though! The carport area is reserved for folks with special parking needs. Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that you kindly refrain from parking on Evans Drive beyond our property line. Car pooling is encouraged.  We also have a bike rack for cyclists!

Yoga with Heart!

We do yoga here in our “community space” on Mondays and Wednesdays.  All levels are welcome to participate.  Let us know if you’re interested in joining this heart centered practice!

“Be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder. Help someone’s soul heal. Walk out of your house like a shepherd.” ― Rumi

Please note, we are a “remove your shoes upon entering” household (what better way to bare our “souls”…!).  Feel free to bring slippers or thick socks for your comfort (and we always have extras!)
