Opening Into Light

Pat Kendall is our featured speaker this Sunday, in celebration of her recently published memoir, Opening Into Light, Reflections from a Lifetime of Learning to See.  She’ll read passages from her book and share some of her journey, “beginning in darkness and hidden in pain”, down a “long road to healing, joy, and freedom.” Pat will have a book sale and signing after our gathering, and she’ll generously donate all profits from book purchases Sunday morning to Paths of Heart!  We hope you’ll join us for what is sure to be an enlightening morning!

Quotes to ponder

A few tidbits from Pat’s book:

“Beneath pain lie buried the seeds of healing, waiting only for an opening into the light.” ~
Pat Kendall

“It is against a dark background that the light shines most brightly.” ~ Pat Kendall

“More and more, are we capable of making a deliberate decision to keep on learning, to get up when we fall, to keep learning, keep growing, keep exploring this life, no matter what?” ~ Pat Kendall

Looking Ahead/Notes of Interest

The entire month of November  ~ We are participating in the YOU MATTER Marathon, a month-long event taking place Nov. 1st to the 30th each year. YMM is a global initiative that creates positive connections between individuals and within communities.  Unlike traditional marathons, there is no running required! This is a movement of kindness to let people know that they matter. Participants simply share a pre-printed business card stating “You Matter”, however and with whomever they are moved to do so!  Paths of Heart is a sponsor this year and we’ve got lots of cards to share with all who wish to participate!  For more information, visit https://youmattermarathon.com/

Sunday, November 24th ~ Myles Sloniker will be in town, so we’re bound to have some extra special musical fun this Sunday!  We’re also planning on a Gratitude potluck after our gathering.  Stay tuned for more details…

Sunday, December 1st ~ Laura Elliot will be our featured speaker.  Her joyful, resilient, loving nature is sure to rub off on you!  In the midst of a terminal cancer diagnosis, she continues to live each day “filled with wonderment and eager anticipation”, fully living a positively joyful life.  She loves sharing that joy with others and we are blessed to have her in our midst!

Tuesday, December 3rd, 7- 8:30 pm ~ We will hold a special Holiday Song Circle to sing songs of the season together!  Light snacks and refreshments will be served.  Love offerings to Paths of Heart are greatly appreciated.

Gratitudes

Thank you to all who have stepped up their support of Paths of Heart ~ we so appreciate it!  We invite our community to contemplate an extra gift on Giving Tuesday, an international movement promoting charitable giving celebrated each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.  This was a significant fundraiser for Paths last year and we hope you’ll participate as you are able this year as well.  Giving Tuesday is on Tuesday, December 3.  Thank you for considering Paths of Heart in your end-of-year giving!

“You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.” ~ Sarah Ban Breathnach

Car-eography
You may park in the driveway, as well as diagonally along the north side of our property.  Should those areas become full, please park out on Hwy 1, which has plenty of space and a nice wide shoulder.  Do watch for passing cars as you are exiting and entering your vehicle, though! The carport area is reserved for folks with special parking needs. Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that you kindly refrain from parking on Evans Drive beyond our property line. Car pooling is encouraged.  We also have a bike rack for cyclists!

About Paths of Heart…

Paths of Heart is a high spirited, heart-centered community where we gather together in music, poetry, commentary, and dialogue to create and nurture joy, compassion, gratitude, and love – in our own lives and throughout the world.  Paths of Heart is a 501(c)(3) Human Services/Educational non-profit organization that uses the arts, especially, to encourage and propel seekers of a better, more peaceful world to find ways to serve, while becoming more kind and compassionate human beings.

We welcome you as we collectively and individually explore the sweet mysteries of life – this is an invitation into co-creation! Our gatherings are most every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at 117 Evans Drive in north Fort Collins. Childcare is available (please let us know ahead of time so we can make arrangements).

We hope our paths cross soon!
