Transitions

This is the power of gathering: it inspires us, delightfully, to be more hopeful, more joyful, more thoughtful; in a word, more alive. ~ Alice Waters

Welcome to Paths of Heart“- a high spirited, heart-centered community where we gather together in music, poetry, commentary, and dialogue to create and nurture joy, compassion, gratitude, and love – in our own lives and throughout the world.  Paths of Heart is a 501(c)(3) Human Services/Educational non-profit organization that uses the arts, especially, to encourage and propel seekers of a better, more peaceful world to find ways to serve, while becoming more kind and compassionate human beings.

We welcome you as we collectively and individually explore the sweet mysteries of life – this is an invitation into co-creation! Our gatherings are most every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at 117 Evans Drive in north Fort Collins. Childcare is available (please let us know ahead of time so we can make arrangements).

We hope our paths cross soon!

Transitions
This “back to school” time of year can somehow evoke a flood of memories and stir a wide range of feelings within us, even for those who are no longer tied to the “school year”.  The picture to the left was taken some years ago now, on our return trip from NYC, “delivering” our son, Myles (and his huge bass; otherwise, we might have sent him by plane!) to his chosen school for his last 2+ years of college.  Ah, the memories of embracing that change…
Transitions can happen anytime along the path of life ~ some are consciously chosen, others not, and while often challenging, they never fail to teach us something about ourselves while providing fertile opportunities for growth.

“A lot of people resist transition and therefore never allow themselves to enjoy who they are. Embrace the change, no matter what it is; once you do, you can learn about the new world you’re in and take advantage of it.” ~ Nikki Giovanni”There’s a little bit of pain in every transition, but we can’t let that stop us from making it. If we did, we’d never make any progress at all.” ~ Phil Schiller

“Times of transition are strenuous, but I love them. They are an opportunity to purge, rethink priorities, and be intentional about new habits. We can make our new normal any way we want.”
~ Kristin Armstrong

Looking Ahead/Notes of Interest

No potluck or singing circle in August, due to scheduling challenges!  We’ll have September dates for you soon.

September 17th – Terry and Serena Bieritz will host a slideshow featuring their recent trip to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.  Their last show of Italy was spectacular!  Time TBA.

October 4th – “Paths of Heart Presents…” a house concert with Minneapolis folk duo, Vicky Emerson and Sarah Morris.  Think “a contemporary version of The Judds.” More detailed information to follow, but wanted to give you an opportunity to mark your calendars!  This’ll be a good one, for sure!  Their CDs have been spinning here for the last couple of months.

King Soopers Neighborhood Reward Gift Cards – We are excited to have joined King Soopers fundraising gift card program!  When you use your Paths of Heart Gift Card, 5% of your total purchases are rewarded to Paths of Heart.  It does not cost you anything extra – simply load your gift card with any amount before you buy your groceries.  We have ordered another batch and will be selling the cards with an initial amount of $10 loaded on them.

We invite you to visit our website, www.pathsofheart.org. There you’ll find past newsletters, a newsletter sign-up form, more about our organization, a photo gallery, and a ‘donate’ button, for those who prefer to donate to our non-profit with a credit card .  Stop by for a visit and please share with friends!

CAR-EOGRAPHY *  You may park in the driveway, as well as diagonally along the north side of our property.  Should those areas become full, please park out on Hwy 1, which has plenty of space and a nice wide shoulder.  Please watch for cars as you are exiting and entering your vehicle, though! The carport area is reserved for folks with special parking needs. Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that you kindly refrain from parking on Evans Drive beyond our property line. Car pooling is encouraged.  We also have a bike rack for cyclists!

Yoga with Heart!

We do yoga here in our “community space” on Mondays and Wednesdays.  All levels are welcome to participate.  Let us know if you’re interested in joining this heart centered practice!

“Be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder. Help someone’s soul heal. Walk out of your house like a shepherd.” ― Rumi

Please note, we are a “remove your shoes upon entering” household (what better way to bare our “souls”…!).  Feel free to bring slippers or thick socks for your comfort (and we always have extras!)
