Aligning Thoughts, Words, and Action

This is the power of gathering: it inspires us, delightfully, to be more hopeful, more joyful, more thoughtful; in a word, more alive. ~ Alice Waters

Welcome to Paths of Heart“- a high spirited, heart-centered community where we gather together in music, poetry, commentary, and dialogue to create and nurture joy, compassion, gratitude, and love – in our own lives and throughout the world.  Paths of Heart is a 501(c)(3) Human Services/Educational non-profit organization that uses the arts, especially, to encourage and propel seekers of a better, more peaceful world to find ways to serve, while becoming more kind and compassionate human beings.

We welcome you as we collectively and individually explore the sweet mysteries of life – this is an invitation into co-creation! Our gatherings are most every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at 117 Evans Drive in north Fort Collins. Childcare is available (please let us know ahead of time so we can make arrangements).

We hope our paths cross soon!

Aligning Thought, Words, and Action
Colleen (and several other “Paths” folks) attended a “Better Angels” workshop this past week, where we learned/reviewed skills for difficult personal conversations.  While this workshop was focused on political conversations, many of us commented how useful these skills can be for navigating ALL of life’s situations and relationships!  This got us thinking about our thoughts, words, and actions in general and how important it is to align all three as we strive to become better human beings in this sometimes topsy-turvy world.  Let’s converse!

“The more we align our words and our deeds, the clearer we are in expressing our truth in the world, and the more powerful we are in bringing it into reality.” ~ Madisyn Taylor

“Authenticity is the alignment of head, mouth, heart, and feet – thinking, saying, feeling, and doing the same thing – consistently.” ~ Lance Secretan

“True freedom is where an individual’s thoughts and actions are in alignment with that which is true, correct, and of honor – no matter the personal price.” ~ Bryant H. McGill

Looking Ahead/Notes of Interest

No potluck or singing circle in August, due to scheduling challenges!  We’ll have September dates for you soon.

September 2nd – We’ve decided to take Sunday off in honor of Labor Day weekend, so there will be NO Paths of Heart Gathering on 9/2!  Enjoy your weekend, whatever you do and wherever you are, and we’ll see you on September 9th!

Monday,September 17th, 6:30 pm – Terry and Serena Bieritz will host a slideshow featuring their recent trip to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.  Their last show of Italy was spectacular!

Thursday, October 4th – “Paths of Heart Presents…” a house concert with“The Home Fires” ~ an Americana duo based in Minneapolis comprised of critically acclaimed singer/songwriters, Sarah Morris and Vicky Emerson. Sarah and Vicky are established touring artists and after developing a close friendship and playing live shows together, they unearthed a gorgeous new sound featuring Sarah’s clear, melodic voice and Vicky’s warm, weathered harmony. They are working towards releasing a debut effort for their duo in the spring of 2019.  We’ll start this evening at 6 pm with a potluck, followed by the concert at 7 pm.  Sarah and Vicky will do one long set, so we won’t keep you out too late on a “work/school” night!  Suggested donation is $20 at the door, though it is always your decision what to donate.

CAR-EOGRAPHY *  You may park in the driveway, as well as diagonally along the north side of our property.  Should those areas become full, please park out on Hwy 1, which has plenty of space and a nice wide shoulder.  Please watch for cars as you are exiting and entering your vehicle, though! The carport area is reserved for folks with special parking needs. Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that you kindly refrain from parking on Evans Drive beyond our property line. Car pooling is encouraged.  We also have a bike rack for cyclists!

Yoga with Heart!

We do yoga here in our “community space” on Mondays and Wednesdays.  All levels are welcome to participate.  Let us know if you’re interested in joining this heart centered practice!

Please note, we are a “remove your shoes upon entering” household (what better way to bare our “souls”…!).  Feel free to bring slippers or thick socks for your comfort (and we always have extras!)
