Keep Your Eye on the Beautiful

This is the power of gathering: it inspires us, delightfully, to be more hopeful, more joyful, more thoughtful; in a word, more alive. ~ Alice Waters

Welcome to Paths of Heart“- a high spirited, heart-centered community where we gather together in music, poetry, commentary, and dialogue to create and nurture joy, compassion, gratitude, and love – in our own lives and throughout the world.  Paths of Heart is a 501(c)(3) Human Services/Educational non-profit organization that uses the arts, especially, to encourage and propel seekers of a better, more peaceful world to find ways to serve, while becoming more kind and compassionate human beings.

We welcome you as we collectively and individually explore the sweet mysteries of life – this is an invitation into co-creation! Our gatherings are most every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at 117 Evans Drive in north Fort Collins. Childcare is available (please let us know ahead of time so we can make arrangements).

We hope our paths cross soon!

Beauty All Around Us

We trust you all had a lovely Thanksgiving Day, however you chose to spend it!  We’ve noticed how people we’ve run into or seen on social media these last few days have been so kind, so appreciative, so willing to see the good and beauty that surrounds us.  Let’s keep it up!  As we enter the “holiday season” we can do so with love, generosity, and kindness, or give in to the pressures and stresses that can sometimes build during this busy time.  Choose Love.  Choose Kindness.  Choose Beauty.  And remember to breathe…

“Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.” ~ Rumi

“Love yourself. It is important to stay positive because beauty comes from the inside out.” ~ Jenn Proske

“Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.” ~ Camille Pissarro

Looking Ahead/Notes of Interest

You Matter Marathon – Throughout the month of November, Paths of Heart will be participating in this global initiative that creates positive connections between individuals and within communities.  You are invited to take a handful of “You Matter” cards (we’ve got them here for you) and thoughtfully give them to others as you are moved to do so (or even leave them in public places for others to find!).  The possibilities are endless.  Here is a short video explaining the You Matter Marathon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=by97UBYpSpw
You are also invited to share your experiences with the cards on the You Matter Marathon Facebook Page!

Tuesday, November 27th – Monthly Song Circle, 7-8:30 pm. Bring your voice (and an instrument if you’d like).  We come together to sing songs of joy, love, peace, hope, kindness ~ whatever lifts us up!  We’ll have tea and a few snacks to share.  Love offerings to Paths of Heart are gratefully received.

#GivingTuesday and #ColoradoGivesDay are two wonderful opportunities to show your love for Paths of Heart!  Giving Tuesdayis this coming Tuesday, November 27th and is a movement to create an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. Giving Tuesday was started in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation as a response to commercialization and consumerism in the post-Thanksgiving season.  Colorado Gives Day, Tuesday, December 4th is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving.  Though Paths of Heart is not a “big enough” non-profit to qualify for inclusion on the Colorado Gives website, we do encourage you to think about us on that day and to consider donating through our own website https://pathsofheart.org  Thank you so much for your generosity!

Monday, December 24th, 7 pm – Our annual Christmas Eve Celebration with music, poetry, and readings from a variety of holiday traditions around the world.

King Soopers Neighborhood Reward Gift Cards – We gratefully received our second Reward check from King Soopers last week!  We encourage and appreciate your participation in this fundraising program.  When you use your Paths of Heart Gift Card at King Soopers, 5% of your total purchases are rewarded to Paths of Heart.  It does not cost you anything extra – simply load your gift card at the check-out with any amount (up to $500) before you buy your groceries.  We have cards with an initial amount of $10 loaded on them.  This is a really easy way to support Paths of Heart!  Thank you!

We invite you to visit our website, www.pathsofheart.org. There you’ll find past newsletters, a newsletter sign-up form, more about our organization, a photo gallery, and a ‘donate’ button, for those who prefer to donate to our non-profit with a credit card .  Stop by for a visit and please share with friends!

‘Gratitudes’

What fun it was to have Johnsmith and Dan Sebranek as our music guests last week!  We appreciate the good vibes they radiate!  It was also nice to get a bit more time with them at our potluck.  Thanks to all who brought such awesome dishes to share and for the help with the set-up and clean-up.  We love our Paths of Heart family!

“Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.” – Amy Collette

CAR-EOGRAPHY *  You may park in the driveway, as well as diagonally along the north side of our property.  Should those areas become full, please park out on Hwy 1, which has plenty of space and a nice wide shoulder.  Please watch for cars as you are exiting and entering your vehicle, though! The carport area is reserved for folks with special parking needs. Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that you kindly refrain from parking on Evans Drive beyond our property line. Car pooling is encouraged.  We also have a bike rack for cyclists!

Yoga with Heart!

We do yoga here in our “community space” on Mondays and Wednesdays.  All levels are welcome to participate.  Let us know if you’re interested in joining this heart centered practice!

“Be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder. Help someone’s soul heal. Walk out of your house like a shepherd.” ― Rumi

Please note, we are a “remove your shoes upon entering” household (what better way to bare our “souls”…!).  Feel free to bring slippers or thick socks for your comfort (and we always have extras!)
